how to care for your soy wax candles

What is soy wax?

Soy wax is a 100% natural wax derived from vegetable soybeans, making it an eco-friendly alternative to other wax options.

What makes soy wax different from other types of wax?

Soy wax burns clean, with less soot. Soy wax also has a slower burn time than other waxes (including beeswax, coconut, etc.) making it long lasting.

What is the difference between cotton wicks and wooden wicks?

Unlike traditional cotton wicks, wooden wicks diffuse more heat faster into the wax, pushing up more fragrance throw into a room. Cotton wicks are known to "bloom" or "mushroom", where they create a black ball on the top of the wick.

Wooden wicks support with a cleaner burn, but do have a little bit of ash residue that can be easily removed using a wick trimmer before relighting.

How do I take care/light my candle?

  1. Trim wooden wick to 1/8"-3/16" inches before lighting.
  2. Let the wax melt all the way across to create an even burn pool.
  3. Do not burn candle for longer than 4 hour intervals.
  4. Avoid drafts.
  5. Remove crystals long the way using gloves, or scoop out with a spoon. Be careful to avoid the flame.
  6. Repeat process.
